I’ve been on a matcha kick lately, very timely with St. Patrick’s Day already here! It’s so easy to add into a morning smoothie or afternoon tea. Matcha is a concentrated form of green tea, rich in polyphenols which offer protection against heart disease and diabetes. It contains loads of antioxidants, detoxifies the body and helps to lower cholesterol. And since I’m not much of a caffeine drinker, I love it because it gives you focused energy without that “coffee buzz”.

Spirulina is a form of blue-green algae which contains over 65% protein and provides all eight essential amino acids. It also contains properties that support cell regeneration and reduction of inflammatory responses in the body such as allergies and arthritis.

So, there you have it. (in a homemade bowl no less!)

An easy, festive and healthy ice cream. Go GREEN tonight!
